casual spring or summer outfit

Kahki shorts and pink top, what a classic color combination. It's common knowledge that grey and pink go wonderfully together. However, I enjoy wearing pink and khaki all the same. I find the two colors look good together.

The rest of my outfit is quite casual. I slipped on my wooden watch to dress things up a bit. It's nice to dress simply from time to time.

Fall Beach Days

Fall outfit - black hat, H&M printed sweatshirt and turquoise rings

The sun and the beach are important in my life. One warms your back on a fall afternoon and the other reminds you what it's like to have your toes in the sand. When beach and sun come together, a wonderful blend of seasons takes place. Yes, going to the beach in November is possible.

I wonder where exactly we're supposed to put all this snow that keeps falling, falling, falling forever. I've had enough of it. It ruins my plans and my family's. It cancels or slows everything down.

On the other hand, the snow tests my creativity when taking blog pictures. I can't take as many as I'd like because it is out of the questions to pose outside!! Thus, I take the cold as a challenge to take good pictures inside. It's harder than you think because the lighting isn't always as you want it.

What did you think of my interview with Audrey?

Sometimes, pouring out some tea, mid afternoon, makes everything better.

How to Wear: Sweatpants

How to Style Sweatpants for those lazy fashionless days

The Juno snowstorm, having lasted about two weeks now, made me realize that I am capable of living in sweatpants and Patagonia fleece for six days, or more. It's easy, cozy and hideous. I go outside only to shovel the massive amounts of snow but it's impossible to do other activities, in public, dressed like that (there are limits, even at 23°F)!

Here are my suggestions to wear your sweatpants... out in public:

1. Wear your sweatpants with a semi-dressy shirt
YES - leather jacket, button up shirt or tight t-shirt
NO - loose sweater, fancy shirt (too much contrast), old dirty t-shirt

2. Add jewelry
YES - handmade or discrete, or add a watch
        NO - pearls and diamonds

3. Chose the right pair of shoes
YES - leather slip-ons or Converse
NO - big snow shoes, rain boots etc. and no grey wool socks

4. Look fresh as a daisy
YES - be awake or wear fresh dewy make up
NO - have bags under your eyes because you just got out of bead... what?

You're red carpet ready (ok, slight exaggeration).

Play Ball?

Pimkie shirt, Target jeans & necklace, (old) J. Crew men's shirt, Mudd bracelet, Adidas hat (brother's), eBay & Bijou Brigitte rings, espadrilles from French marché

Having a blog rimes with taking pictures in hot and humid weather.
Having a blog means that you borrow your brother's baseball cap which annoys him.
Having a blog means taking pictures in a place that you've never been to but pass at least once a week.
Having a blog means that since you borrowed your brother's hat, he asks you (since he did you a favor) to post the picture of him skateboarding that you took in Canada (that he finds so cool).

Goodbye (snow)

Alright everyone, let's get a little celebration going because this is the last post I am doing with snow in it (amen). So here goes my last winter post!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy :)

Goodbye by Glenn Morrison (love this song)

SPRING SPRING SPRING GOODBYE SNOW SPRING SPRING SPRING HELLO FLOWERS AND SUNSHINE AND DRESSES!

Jeans: Levis
Boots: L.L.Bean
Button up: Gap
Sweater: Ralph Lauren
Vest: Nordstrom (don't know which brand...)
Sunglasses: Tommy Hilfiger

Do I dare mention how long this winter was? All New Englanders will agree with me that it was painful. I never thought February could seem longer. I guess the shortest months move the slowest. But now it's April!!!
Semi Fun Fact: every spring my neighbors lawn becomes covered in crocuses (small purple flowers, always the first to bloom around here) and it looks like a purple carpet you just want to lie down in and sleep like a princess surrounded by purple velvet.

It honestly feels like a blessing to have all this snow disappear. I have waited long long weeks for the sun to peak out from behind the gray clouds. Now don't get me wrong, I love winter...that is for the first month, then it gets cold. Like many people I have seasonal depression which means during the winter (or when I get a lack of sunlight for a long period of time) I get unhappy and stressed. Stress leads to frustration, sleepless nights, and bad skin (ugh). The way I attempt to solve this problem is a special lamp called a "Happy Light." It's seriously a light that makes jokes to make you laugh and like tickles you so you become happy. No just kidding - actually a "Happy Lamp" lets off light rays similar to the sun giving your body the illusion that it is outside under the sun. I am not fully sure how it works from a biological sense but I know it works fairly well. The only thing is it is a commitment - 1 to 2 hours in front of it a day, and I'm not so good at that. Anyway I guess the other side to all of that is that when spring finally comes I am extra happy. It can be only 50 degrees out and I seriously will go tan. No joke. The other day it was 53 degrees with no wind and a clear sky and I lay on my porch in shorts and a sports bra reading for 2 hours....it was amazing. Thank god you're here spring I missed you.

drive safely my darlings
