A White Memorial Day

Hey beauties, 

So tomorrow is memorial day and where I live it's supposed to be 85 degrees (switching out these jeans for shorts anyway). So to celebrate here's a post (I'm always celebrating clearly) 

The flowers have finally bloomed around here and the sun has made the trees a gorgeous green. I couldn't be happier laying out in the warm light and soaking up the smell of tulips - like seriously though, its amazing. My sweaters have been buried in the back of my closet and now shorts take the first shelf. The beach has become my best friend once again and my coats have become the worst. 

You may notice part of my hair has gone blonde. About a week ago I got it cut and went ombre to get rid of my red. Now I've never really liked ombre because usually when I see it done girls have a line between the colors, I like the color to flow seamlessly. But also I hate dealing with roots - they suck. So I found someone who knew exactly what she was doing and god I think it looks amazing (post to come soon where you can see my hair down). It flows seamlessly and I don't have to deal with roots. 

The plan is to keep it this way for a while and then go pink...but we'll see :)

Only bad thing about spring is pollen. For one it gets all over my car meaning I'm constantly doing car washes. Two: allergies. If I forget my Zyrtec well I'll be sneezing all day. And after the sneezing comes swollen eyes and runny nose. But hey to be honest its pretty much all worth it when the sun comes out. 

One last thing: these amazing drinks. Seriously try them they taste like heaven and are extremely good for you :)

Alright everyone, let's get a little celebration going because this is the last post I am doing with snow in it (amen). So here goes my last winter post!!!!!!!!!!! Enjoy :)

Do I dare mention how long this winter was? All New Englanders will agree with me that it was painful. I never thought February could seem longer. I guess the shortest months move the slowest. But now it's April!!! 

Semi Fun Fact: every spring my neighbors lawn becomes covered in crocuses (small purple flowers, always the first to bloom around here) and it looks like a purple carpet you just want to lie down in and sleep like a princess surrounded by purple velvet. 

It honestly feels like a blessing to have all this snow disappear. I have waited long long weeks for the sun to peak out from behind the gray clouds. Now don't get me wrong, I love winter...that is for the first month, then it gets cold. Like many people I have seasonal depression which means during the winter (or when I get a lack of sunlight for a long period of time) I get unhappy and stressed. Stress leads to frustration, sleepless nights, and bad skin (ugh). The way I attempt to solve this problem is a special lamp called a "Happy Light." It's seriously a light that makes jokes to make you laugh and like tickles you so you become happy. No just kidding - actually a "Happy Lamp" lets off light rays similar to the sun giving your body the illusion that it is outside under the sun. I am not fully sure how it works from a biological sense but I know it works fairly well. The only thing is it is a commitment - 1 to 2 hours in front of it a day, and I'm not so good at that. Anyway I guess the other side to all of that is that when spring finally comes I am extra happy. It can be only 50 degrees out and I seriously will go tan. No joke. The other day it was 53 degrees with no wind and a clear sky and I lay on my porch in shorts and a sports bra reading for 2 hours....it was amazing. Thank god you're here spring I missed you.

Hello Lovelies, 

The snow is slowly beginning to disappear thank the gods but somehow the cold persists. I can't ever greet a morning with temperatures above 10 degrees and my hands are cracking from the cold. Ugh summer I need you!

This bag is absolutely amazing. The brilliant blue color adds a spark to every outfit and it is easy to pile in all the junk that is needed in a purse (whats in my bag video may be on its way). It's simple and elegant and I believe I can say that about all of fossils bags. Fossil is a beautiful brand and its incredibly durable. Never be afraid to add a spark to your outfit.

Laugh 'Cuz It's Good For You

Hey Y'all, 

I know the weathers been drowsy but thanksgiving just passed and christmas is right around the corner! 

Don't give up that holiday hope quite yet! :)

Some things to do to lighten up:

1) make a gingerbread house. then eat the whole thing

2) put up christmas lights. outside, inside. I string them around my bedroom

3) bake. food is always good 

4) clean, now is a great time to give away stuff you really just don't need

5) go do some community service! It'll make others happy as well as yourself 

6) get a joke book, I have five and i honestly love them

7) get an art project going, or some extravagant homemade gifts going (post to come soon)

8) be happy :)

Just an update on the boots: I actually did this shoot within the second day of getting these boots but have since returned them. I decided as a holiday gift to myself (as well my birthday) I bought a pair of Frye boots and will be doing a post on them soon :)
