We read the play The Tempest by Shakespeare in school. Instead of doing an essay we had the choice of a project. My friend, Rebecca and I wanted to dance so we proposed our idea. All projects had to be thesis driven. Ours was that Caliban (a slave) had both a human and a savage side. We showed this in our dance using colors and the difference between modern and classic. I was the more human side (in white, hair up, and classical) and Rebecca was the savage side (in black, hair down, and modern). We had so much fun doing the dance, it was hard but it paid off. Tim Backland, a teacher, was really nice and offered to film it for us. 

En cours d'Humanité, après avoir lu la pièce de théâtre, La Tempête de Shakespeare, il fallait faire un projet. Mon amie, Rebecca, et moi avons eu la bonne idée de danser. Chaque projet devait avoir une thèse. La notre était que Caliban, un esclave, un des personnages de la pièce, avait un côté sauvage et humain. J'étais le côté humain (cheveux attachés, en blanc, classique) et Rebecca était sauvage (cheveux détachés, en noir, moderne). On a chorégraphié et choisi la musique en mélangeant mes connaissances en danse classique et les siennes en danse moderne. Un des profs d'Humanité nous a demandé si on voulait qu'il nous filme.
