Two Ways to Style a Bandana

1. AROUND YOUR NECK

The bandana becomes much more elegant when tied around the neck like a silk scarf. It goes with everything and you can even buy it in different colors for each day of the week. Wear your bandana like an Hermès scarf: chic like a silk square but with a casual feel too.

Tel un foulard de soie noué autour du cou, le bandana devient beaucoup plus élégant. Il s'assortit à tout et vous pouvez en acheter dans un assortiment de coloris différents pour chaque jour de la semaine. Portez votre bandana version carré Hermès: chic comme un carrée de soie, mais avec une dégaine décontractée tout de même.

2. AS A BAG ACCESSORY

Make a simple bag look eye-catching by loosely tying a bandana to a strap. Depending on your outfit or bag, switch out bandanas to match the new look.

2. EN ACCESSOIRE DE SAC

Pour mettre en valeur un sac tout simple, nouez votre bandana autour d'une anse. Selon votre tenue ou sac, n'hésitez pas à assortir les couleurs du bandana.

Leftover Sunset Eyeliner

Grandmother made sweater, H&M pants, Converse shoes, Moa necklace, Target sunglasses, Lancôme makeup 

Yes, you knew me without makeup.... until now. Here I am wearing turquoise eyeliner, layers of mascara and eyeshadow. I never wear makeup because I feel like it takes too much time to put on and I have don't have the patience nor skill required. At the Lord & Taylor party, there was a free makeover stand. I was in the hands of a Lancôme professional, which was amazing.

It was absolutely necessary to document this beauty. What better place than at the beach, accompanied by Miki, a sunset and seagulls?

Et oui, vous me connaissez sans maquillage.... jusqu'à maintenant. Me voici avec du crayon turquoise, des couches de mascara et du fard à paupières. Je ne me maquille jamais car je trouve que ça prend trop de temps et je n'ai ni le talent ni la patience requise. À la fête de Lord & Taylor, il y avait un stand de maquillage gratuit. Je me suis donc fait maquiller par une professionnelle de Lancôme, chose très agréable. 

Il fallait absolument documenter cette nouvelle beauté. Quel meilleur endroit qu'à la plage, accompagnée de Miki, d'un coucher de soleil et de mouettes?

Camel Gold

Grandmother knit sweater, Converse tunic, Target jeans, Moa earrings, New Look shoes, H&M and Urban Outfitters rings

I couldn't stop staring at my friends outfit, a loose brown sweater with a white shirt layered underneath. It turns out both J. Crew pieces were attached. That's cheating.

When I got home, I immediately decided to recreate the look, for "real". I slipped on my white summer tunic and layered my camel colored sweater, knit by my grandmother. I'm very happy with the result. I like the look of both collars: crew and bowl necklines, which are right on point with the buttoned up collar trend. 

Je n'arrêtais pas de dévisager mon amie quand elle portait un pull ample marron avec une chemise blanche fluide qui dépassait par dessous. Elle l'avait acheté à J. Crew et les deux pièces étaient attachées! La triche.

Rentrée chez moi, j'ai décidé de recréer le look, pour de "vrai". J'ai enfilé une tunique blanche d'été sous mon pull d'hiver, fait par ma grand-mère. Je suis très contente du résultat. J'aime l'association des cols: un plus serré que l'autre qui se marient parfaitement avec la mode des cols boutonnés jusqu'au cou.

Cream

Thrifted Loft by Ann Taylor sweater, Forever 21 shirt & ring, H&M pants, Target watch, Converse shoes, handmade bracelets and necklace, Jennyfer statement ring

The days where all I need to make me happy is a soft sweater are the best. It isn't good to forget simplicity in life. Winning the soccer final with my team, eating dinner at a restaurant with my boyfriend or celebrating Miki's eighteenth birthday <3 etc. These moments are the ones that stay in the back of your mind and appear when a cheerful smile is needed.

Les jours où il suffit d'un gilet tout doux pour vous rendre de bonne humeur sont les meilleurs. Il ne faut pas oublier la simplicité dans la vie. Gagner la finale avec mon équipe de foot, manger au restaurant avec mon copain ou fêter le dix-huitième anniversaire de Miki <3 etc. Tous ces moments sont ceux qui restent gravés dans notre mémoire pour toujours et resurgissent quand un petit sourire est nécessaire!

Tommy

This outfit is the most basic preppy. You simply have to slip on Tommy Hilfiger shorts and pair them with white, a polo for the more hardcore. 

Each time I wear this necklace, people think that the big bead in the center is a grape... I don't know what type of fashion blogger would wear a grape on a leather cord. I guess this means it's feasible. I'm starting the trend, who wants to copy?

Cet ensemble est preppy mais très ordinaire. Il suffit d'enfiler un short Tommy Hilfiger et de l'assortir avec du blanc, ou un polo pour les plus fidèles.

Chaque fois que je porte ce collier, les gens pensent que la grosse perle au milieu est un raisin. Je ne sais pas quelle blogeuse de mode mettrait un raisin sur une corde de cuir, mais il faut croire que c'est faisable. Je lance la mode, qui me copie?

Lie #3

I will admit, this belt is not vintage. It's from my mom's closet from when she was a teenager or young adult. Since I thought I'd spare myself the time, I write that it's vintage instead of tagging it as "belt from my mom's closet that you can't buy anymore, sorry". I thought I'd let you guys know and clear my bad karma since I've lied to you all. In case you were curios, that was lie #3 according to A Bent Piece of Wire, but I didn't get it at Urban Outfitters.

J'admets, cette ceinture n'est pas vintage. Elle vient du placard de ma mère du temps où elle était adolescente ou jeune adulte. Puisque je pensais gagner du temps, j'écris qu'elle est vintage au lieu de "ceinture du placard de ma mère que vous ne pouvez plus acheter, désolée". Je pensais que je vous tiendrai au courant et j'effacerai tout mon mauvais karma puisque je vous ai menti. Au cas où vous seriez curieuses, c'était le mensonge #3 d'après A Bent Piece of Wire, mais je n'ai pas acheté cette ceinture à Urban Outfitters.

Remix

New Vintage vest, Marshalls sweater, Forever 21 shirt, Converse shoes, necklace & bracelets from Turkey, Swatch watch, Nordstrom Rack ring, Coach belt via rummage sale

This is a little twist to how I'd normally wear this sweater. It has a sweet zipper in the back (that my friends enjoy unzipping). I wore it with my military jacket so you can't see the detail in the back. I am also full of puns for my titles (here and there), not today though. My belt is accentuated by the length of the sweater. Can I just say I am so proud of that bargain?!

Voici une nouvelle façon de mettre ce pull pour moi. Il a une chouette fermeture éclaire au dos (que mes amies adorent descendre). Je l'ai porté avec ma veste militaire qui cache le détail de l'arrière que j'essaye de montrer d'habitue. J'ai beaucoup de blagues dans mes titres en ce moment (ici et là), pas aujourd'hui par contre. Ma ceinture est mise en valeur par la longueur de mon pull. Inutile de vous dire que je suis fière de l'affaire que j'ai faite.
