I have always had a fascination for castles. When I was little, I walked through many Loire chateaus: Chenonceau, Cheverny, Chambord. I pictured myself strolling through the French gardens in a billowing gown, wearing make up and a little beauty spot. There is a certain elegance in French chateaus from the Renaissance period. The lace-like stone and wood work, the pyramid and sphere shaped bushes and everything else is intriguing to me. I should have worn this dress at the Vaux-le-Vicomte castle today to feel like a true princess.

  9. i love you dress! anything stripy and im completely sold. i especially like how the stripes on your dress don't all go in the same direction, but instead in different ones to flatter the body. the location of your shots are BEAUTIFUL too, i am in love! haha

ps. i'm new to your blog and have 100% subscribed. it's so lovely and i love how in your bio, you say that you want to help people 'appreciate beautiful clothes, not necessarily from expensive brands'. sadly, i don't think we have many bloggers like this anymore as they all seem to be wearing high end/designer things. which is fine occasionally but when they do all the time it's disheartening to know that it's not in your price range.

    1. Sarah, thank you for such a sweet and thoughtful comment.
This dress is simply so much more elegant because of the different directions of the stripes. You are so right. Also, thank you for subscribing, it's always a pleasure to know people love my blog.
It's really important to me to wear affordable pieces (mainly because I can't afford high end clothes) but also because you can honestly find such great pieces at retail and chain stores! Thanks for reading my about Page, Sarah!
      Let's stay in touch.

  12. Such beautiful photos! Love the castle setting (currently obsessed with castles too)... I went to Vaux-Le-Vicomte as a child and would love to go back sometime as my memory disappoints me: I barely remember how it looked like. Glad to see your photos!
